Greetings! I’m Holly Hoenes, the founder and president of The Yuppy Puppy Pet Boutique, LLC. The elegantly decorated pet boutique is located at 8104 Main Street, Ellicott City, Maryland in the center of historic downtown Ellicott City. The store offers upscale pet apparel for dogs and cats, innovative gifts for pet owners, unique toys, carriers, gourmet treats, dining supplies, pet beds, grooming products, and so much more!
My inspiration for opening the store came after a disappointing shopping experience back in late September 2004, when I set out to one of those big chain pet super stores with plans to purchase new collars, leashes and a bed for my two Malteses, "Brendle" and "Chloe". Dissatisfied with the quality and selection, I left the store without making a purchase. Lamenting over my failed shopping experience, the words "I should open a pet boutique" rolled off my tongue and within a few days I had a plan in place. It all happened very quickly and I'm amazed at how easily things fell into place for me. I'm from Ellicott City and live in Ellicott City. I felt this type of store would compliment my charming hometown. I'm thrilled with the store's success and I could not have asked for a warmer welcome from my community and the surrounding areas within the Baltimore-Washington, D.C. corridor. As a historic town, Ellicott City receives a lot of tourists and we're privileged in that we get to meet pet lovers from all over.
The store is unlike any other not only in the products carried, the friendly and polite service you'll receive, but also by it's sophisticated, yet non-stuffy décor. It's a boutique, so you'll find a slip-covered vintage French sofa and crystal chandelier. The walls are a chic pink, with white and black accents, and the windows are dressed with pedigree dog fabric window treatments. In store purchases are wrapped in black tissue paper, placed in pink shopping bags and are ready to be given as gifts with no additional wrapping necessary. My goal is to create a pleasant, comfortable, and memorable shopping experience for pet lovers and their pets.
The Yuppy Puppy Pet Boutique offers an extensive selection to satisfy many tastes across a wide range of products. You will find fabulous pet fashions and accessories including shoes, eyewear, coats, tanks, sweaters, and charms. We have a HUGE selection of collars, leashes and harnesses.
